Course Description:
This course starts out with basic theories on the OSI, SNMP models before going through common network services and protocols at the Data Link, Network and Application layers. Students will learn about packet switching, routing protocols, Active Directory, Domain Name System, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Network Address Translation (NAT), etc. through the setup, management, maintenance and troubleshooting of some local area networks using Windows Server and Cisco network equipment. Students are expected to develop practical network skills through a combination of theoretical lessons and hands-on lab practices.
